Food for Thought - April 4, 2015

If you have a sweet tooth, you should definitely try out the dessert at these SF restaurants. A good dessert, after all, makes the dining experience so much better!

DELFINA

What's Special About it:
Reviewers say that Delfina is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. They have great food, service and ambiance. Parking, however, can be a bit of a challenge.

What Customers Say:
"BY FAR the best panna cotta I've ever had. Just slicing my fork through it, I could tell it had a very smooth & rich texture, not like those cheap tasting ones that are like slightly fancier Jell-O. Biting into it was even more heavenly. The flavor was really good, & even though they give tiny bits of grapefruit, don't overdo the ratio of grapefruit to panna cotta because the grapefruit's bitterness is easily overpowering"

What Else to Order:
Butternut squash tortellini and Spaghetti (with plum tomatoes, garlic, evoo, pepperoncini)

Location:
3621 18th St
San Francisco, CA 94110

Neighborhood:
b/t Guerrero St & Oakwood St in Mission

HUXLEY

What's Special About it:
The house made ice cream (try the buttermilk-vanilla) is a must try! It looks incredibly simple but you will be amazed at the smooth consistency and the creaminess. No crunch ice crystals! The resto itself is small and intimate (around 8 tables) which add to the interesting experience.

What Customers Say:
"Huxley is an absolutely darling and charming restaurant. It's darling because it's cozy and small, and nestled amongst the grit of Geary. Charming, well, that's due to the food and service we encountered while dining. "

What Else to Order:
The pot pie, the avocado toast, and the pork shoulder.

Location:
846 Geary St
San Francisco, CA 94109

Neighborhood:
Larkin St in Lower Nob Hill
